HCC Girls Cricket for 2019

Formed in 2008 the club is very proud of its ever-expanding girls cricket section. Our aim is and has always been to make cricket fast and fun and as competitive as the girls want it to be.

We joined the inaugural Herts Junior Girls Leagues in 2011 and have since claimed 5 county titles, spread over the U12 and U14 competitions

For the last 3 seasons we have also entered girl’s teams into the boy’s leagues, so they get even more chance to play competitive cricket

If you have a daughter who loves her sport, then Harpenden Cricket Club will provide a fun and safe environment. Currently we have over 80 girls playing regular cricket….and they love it

How the Girls Cricket at HCC is set up

HCC – The Harpenden Huskies – School Years 3 to 7

The girls train every Sunday on the Common between 9am and 10.15am.  And training begins on Sunday 28th April 2019.

Within this part of the club we run 3 squads who between them play in 4 leagues.  There is a good deal of fluidity between the squads so that players can play alongside appropriately aged and similarly skilled players.  Playing competitive, league games is not compulsory but, for information, the outline of the squads is:

The Original Huskies – Years 6 & 7

They play in the following competitions

·         U12s Girls League

·         U10sB Boys League

The New Huskies – Years 5 & 6

They play in the following competition

·         U9s Boys League

The Mini Huskies – Years 3 & 4

They don’t play in a fixed competition but will have the chance to participate in U8-U10s Girls Mini tournaments across the summer
